Exegesis (n) Ex: a psychobiography that purports to be the definitive exegesis of the late president’s character
Critical explanation or interpretation of a text though thee grammatical, historical and cultural study of the text to try to determine its meaning to the original audience. The process basically involves asking analytical questions about various aspects of the texts and their contexts and answering them.
Hermeneutics/Hermeneutic (N): Ex 1: Ex 2:
- the theory and methodology of interpretation, especially of scriptural texts. Hermeneutics includes exegesis and creates the rules for exegesis.

Axial (n) Ex: The Quran is an axial text of a major religious civilization and of a major world language.

Eisegesis (n) Ex: It was his way or the highway, every statement was an eisegesis.
an interpretation, especially of Scripture, that expresses the interpreter’s own ideas, bias, or the like, rather than the meaning of the text. One ignores the grammar, cultural context and historical context of the text to arrive at this interpretation.
Schema (n) Ex: a schema of scientific reasoning
