Heard court cases for Elizabeth and made sure that her policies were carried out.
What did the Lord Lieutenants do?
Were in charge of raising local militia and overseeing England’s defences.
What was the courts role, and what were they made up of?
Made up of people who lived near the queen. They showed off wealth and entertained her.
What was the Queen allowed to do?
To declare war, grant titles and land, call or dismiss parliament and reject laws.
