Baptism’s sign and effect
Sign:
- “I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.” (FORM)
- Water and ablution by contact with water (MATTER)
Effect:
- Justification (infusion of SG and removal of all sin)
- Remission of the temporal punishment due to sin (purgatory)
- Baptismal Character (made members of the mystical Body of Christ)
