Sui Generis- of there own genre
-How did it come about- Jesus is born, he dies, he ascends to heaven, stories of Jesus is oral period 33-60, 60- mark, 70s- Matthew and Luke 2nd writings, 3rd writings John and Gnosticism
- are not photographs, are portraits, you don’t get crystal clear picture,
- not chronological stories but thematic stories
- author uses sources some written or stories
