Quiz 3 Flashcards
Other than underexposure What is the artifact?
Grid Lines (usually due to moving grid; it is either moving too fast or NOT turned on)
What happens when you clean intensifying screens and put them in wet?
Streaking ( need to let them dry; wipe clean with a towel and drape towel over them to prevent dust from getting on it)
What kind of screens are these and why shouldn’t they be used?
Split screens= unnecessary radiation exposure
What is the problem with this film?
Light Leak Exposure
What is wrong with this film?
Double exposure (nasium and base posterior)
What is the small white thing?
Screen pitting/cracked screen
What is wrong with this film?
Lack of film-screen contact (notice how it is slightly blurry on the bottom of the film)
What are the little black dots from?
from static electricity (note: exposure is too light, but can see some structures so you would increase kV 15% and increase mAs 50%)
Where is the dirt?
In the cassette or ON the screen (make sure you specifiy IN or ON)
What is the wavy thing?
chemical splash ON screen and dirt ON screen
What are the artifacts on this film?
support layer of cassette is in backwards
P-A chest film; what is wrong with it?
Grid cut-off (can occur from tube shift MC, using focus grid, bent grid holder, FFD out of range, parallel grid); NOTE: one side is lighter than the other, different color of air
What happens when FFD is out of range?
bilateral grid cut off
What happens in a parallel grid?
bilateral grid cut off
Why are there 2 markers?
Double Exposure
