problems with race and ethnicity
these categories are too broad to make data gathered on them very interpretable. Problems relate mostly to smaller individual populations within the societal construct groups.
oversimplifies humanity, eliminates diversity, jumping to cause and effects conclusions, false connection between race and surrogates
race is a surrogate for
culture, social deteminants, poverty, environment, historical migration, neighborhood, microbiome, healthcare access, quality, behaviors, cultural connectivity, effects of prejudice and oppression, genetic backgrounds.

They are part of a complex system

a complex system has unpredictable features and outcomes. all of the many intricately connected pieces have to be in just the right place for things to happen a certain way it is not jsut a simple chain of cause and effect.

racism is a diverse problem
it is important to understand the exact community you are serving
learn about them don’t assumer based on your societal construct categories of people and populations
