A

The hero goes forth into the unknown leaving their world behind. There is danger behind the threshold. The hero crosses the barrier to defeat the threshold guardians.

A

A

The hero is tested to choose a woman (material life) or keep on persevering to attain the ultimate boon. Their soul becomes tainted. It can be metaphorical, it can also just be temptation that goes against the achieving of their goal.

A

Here the hero must confront the father (or father figure) who represents power and the balance between life and death. This is when the hero changes/transforms at the center point of the journey.
