quiz 1 shoulder Flashcards
inferior medial border is prominent at rest & inferior angle tilts dorsally w movement
acromion tilts anteriorly over thorax
what type of scap dyskinesis
Type I Scapular Dyskinesis
med. border of scap being prominent and lifting away from posterior chest wall
can indicate SLAP lesion
Type II Scap Dyskinesis
superior medial border of scap is elevated
shoulder shrug initiates movement and there is minimal winging
Type III Scap dyskinesis
both scapulae are symmetrical at rest and during motion
Type IV Scap dyskinesis
limits inferior translation and restricts anterior and lateral rotation up to 45 abduction
Superior Glenohumeral Ligament
limits lateral rotation between 45-90 abduction
Middle Glenohumeral Ligament
has an anterior and posterior band with an “axillary pouch” in between acting like a hammock
Inferior Glenohumeral Ligament
supports the humeral head above 90 abduction, limiting inferior translation while the anterior band tightens on lateral rotation and posterior band on medial rotation
*most important
primarily limits inferior translation and helps limit lateral rotation below 60 degrees abduction
Coracohumeral Ligament
- found in rotator interval between the anterior border of the supraspinatus tendon and superior border of subscapularis tendon, uniting the two tendons anteriorly
forms an arch over the humeral head, acting as a block to superior translation
Coracoacromial Ligament
forms a roof over bicipital groove to hold the long head of biceps tendon in place
Transverse humeral Ligament
