systematic process: observations, questions, search literature, hypothesis, experiment, collect data, conclusions, share results, develop interventions, ask new questions
What is hypothesis
An educated guess; the roadmap for the research study
What is the PI’s role
oversee and manage the entire research plan
What is the research process?
Ordered steps that ensure your research is complete: identify the general study area, choose your research topic, formulate plan and methodology, collect data, analyse and interpret data, present your findings
What is Evidence-Based Practice?
an approach with current, high quality research evidence, clinical expertise, and client preferences and values.
What is evidence in EBP?
internal evidence vs. external evidence
Why is EBP important?
You want your client to benefit, and they wont do that if you are not up to date on latest techniques, and/or choosing treatment plans that are not developmentally appropriate for them.
What is the process of EBP
Frame your clinical question, gather evidence, assess the evidence, make your clinical decision.
