What is the Oath of Loyalty and Service?
I will do my best to exemplify the principles and to advance the organization of Alpha Phi Omega by taking part in the activities of this fraternity and by obeying the laws of this brotherhood. I furthermore promise that I will give unselfishly of my time and energy, building a program of service for my fraternity, for my college, for the youth of all nations, for my community, and for my nation and world as a participating citizen.
What is the Scout Oath?
On my honor, I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout law; to help others at all times, to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.
What is the purpose of Alpha Phi Omega?
The purpose of Alpha Phi Omega shall be to assemble college students in a national service fraternity in the fellowship of principles derived from the Scout Oath and Law of the Boys Scout of America; to develop leadership, to promote friendship, to provide service to humanity and to further the freedom that is our national, educational, and intellectual heritage.

What is the Scout Law?

What is the Conduct as a pledge in Alpha Phi Omega?
- conduct yourself in an honorable and respectable manner–> Scout Law (“A scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent”)
- respect for all brothers and all fellow pledges
- expected to conduct yourself in a presentable manner in public view because you represent Delta Rho and Alpha Phi Omega
- As a Rutgers student, remember you should represent this university to your utmost ability
- as a pledge, you should not be wearing the greek letters of Alpha Phi Omega under any circumstance
What is the Attendance policy?
- allowed no more than 3 total unexcused absences
- —– 1/2 absence deducted: being more than 5 minutes late to events, leaving an event early, not wearing your pin to an APO event
- —– 1 absence deducted: not attending inductions, pledge and brotherhood meetings, Lafayette Trip, Speed Bigging, Big Reveal, Family Tree Night, Sleepover, Initiations.
- —– 2 absences will be deducted: not attending pledgeboards and election days
Absences excused:
- RA/ AA duties
- Incapacitating Illness
- Coinciding exams/ classes
- Issues agreed on by the eboard
- religious reasons
An absence will NOT be excused for:
- work (other than RA/AA duties)
- minor illnesses
- vacations
- other club or organization obligations
- family events
- any other events resulting from poor planning
What are the Quizzes policy?
- given EVERY SUNDAY
- must receive at least 80% on all quizzes
- must receive at least 90% on the final
final is given at Sleepover, NOVEMBER 17 (Friday)
Interviews
- 50 brother interviews (active, associate, and inactive)
- – create a google slide containing 1 interview per slide
- – 2 of these 50 must be a HANGOUT interview approved by the eboard
- entire pledge class interviews
- each interview must conclude with a SELFIE
- Interviews are NOT to be conducted at service events
- Interviews are NOT to be conducted as a group–> MUST be ONE ON ONE
- Interviews must NOT be shared or copied
What are the restrictions/ caps for hours?
- 3 hours cap per drive (2 allowed per member)
- 3 hour cap per donation (2 allowed per member)
- 3 hour cap on driving hours
- 6 hour cap on outside hours (any hours not completed to all APO pledges/ brothers)
- 10 hour cap on chapter hours
What are the MIDPOINT requirements
midpoint: FRIDAY OCTOBER 20TH @ 5PM
- 12.5 service hours
- 2 fellowships
- 1 fundraiser
- 25 brother interviews (including 1 activity interview)
