Fly Loft/Tower
Extension of the stage walls up to allow scenery to be flown up until it is out of sight of the audiences, and to support the GRID.
Known as the “flies”
Should be twice the height of the pros arch and has full “flying height”
Gridiron (grid)
1) the support structure close to the top of the fly tower on which pulleys of the flying system are supported. Constructed from wood or metal beams
2) arrangement of scaffolding from which lighting fixtures are hung in a performance space with no flying facilities.
Hang points
The approved location to attach or connect rigging to support materials overhead including lighting, scenery, and audio

The area on the stage just upstage of the curtain
In two
Is upstage of the first leg but downstage of the second
Tracks
1) a slot cut into the stage floor/show deck to allow for scenery to be driven on to stage mechanically
2) a sideways movement of a flying piece of flown actor
3) audio recording, most playback / recording devices have two tracks- left and right
4) a position learned by an actor that has a start to finish role throughput the show

Apron
Section of the stage which projects towards or into the auditorium. In proscenium theaters, the part of the stage in front of the house tabs, or in front of the proscenium
Arena
Form of stage where the audience members are seated on at least two (normally three or four sides) of the whole acting area
Backstage
The part of the stage and they’re which is out of the sight of the audience
