What is an occupation-based activity?
activity that has meaning + contextual influences for a particular individual
What are the categories of occupation?
ADLs, IADLs, rest and sleep, education, work, play, leisure, health management, social participation
What are ADLs?
taking care of oneself routinely (grooming, showering, feeding, etc.)
What are IADLs?
supporting daily life w/i the home + community (child rearing, care of pets, meal prep, driving, financial management, etc.)
What is health management?
activities related to health + well-being (physical activity, medication management, nutrition, communication w/ healthcare system, etc.)
What is rest and sleep?
restorative activities (rest, sleep prep, sleep participation)
What is work?
labor or exertion related to development, production, delivery, or management of objects or services for financial gain or not (volunteer exploration, job performance, employment seeking, etc.)
