What is a longitudinal study?
A group of people who are studied for a long period of time–often for their entire life. Why? To identify risk factors for conditions.
What is a case study?
An in-depth study of a person, group, or unit of their life

To gain an overall look at how a person is functioning & help them get the proper treatment

- Appearance: How does the individual look?
- Mood: What’s the individual’s overall mood in the past month, weeks, or days
- Function: Can they move well?
- Affect: How are they now?
- Speech: Can they follow the conversation?
- Memory: Can they answer recall questions effectively? Serial 7’s
- S.I.: Have they have thoughts of suicide? Have they thought about how and when to do it? Have they attempted?
- H.I.: Have they have thoughts about killing someone? How and when? Have they had attempts?

- Duration: How long does the stress last?
