Medications with multiple formulations exceptions

A

There are exceptions to the rule that drugs that come in multiple dosage forms will not have a quick code, such as Penicillin, Zithromax, and Amoxicilian.
E.g.
-Amoxicillin 250MG capsules, Amoxicilian 250MG tablets, and Amoxicillian 250MG/5ML Susp 100ML are all AMO250

Non-capsule/tablet exceptions

A

There are exceptions to the rule that only tablets/capsules have quick codes:
-Albuterol solution, Amoxicilian recon, Zithromax recon, and topical hydrocortisone dosage forms
-Amoxicilian (all strengths) and Zithromax (all strengths)
E.g
-hydrocortisone 2.5% cream 30GM, hydrocortisone 2.5% lotion 59ML, and hydrocortisone 2.5% oint 28.35GM are all HYD2.5

Medical Abbreviation Exceptions:

A

There are exceptions to the rule that all quick codes will use the first 3 alpha characters
E.g.
Hydrochlorothiazide 25MG tablets and Hydrochlorothiazide 50MG tablets are HCTZ25 and HCTZ50
