Teacher’s command of the classroom, ensuring focus
Pupils rose to the challenge, and remained engaged
TAs were giving support to all pupils (one giving direct support to a pupil)
What could have been improved in the Maths lesson you observed?
Some more challenging work could have been provided to high-achieving pupils
One or two more examples of fractions being converted into decimals would have been helpful
What schools have you applied for to get school experience?
One school I have applied to is Holy Rosary Catholic Primary Academy in Wolverhampton
Looking to apply elsewhere also, but limited due to time constraints / school experience opportunities in my area
Planning to get in touch with John Taylor regarding arranging some before I begin teacher training
What do you hope to get out of gaining school experience?
A better understanding of the day-to-day operations of a primary school
The chance to observe different pedagogies to begin to understand how I want to teach
Further confirmation that primary teaching is my calling
