Questions 2.0 Flashcards
Draw a model of any atom, using the atomic number
check yr science notes- Its the diagram of the atom with the small circles
Write the Electronic Configuration of an atom, given the atomic number
Depending on the atomic number (which is also the amount of electrons) this changes the electronic configuration in the shells of an atom. Remember 1st shell holds 2 electrons, second holds 8, third holds 8 and so on. Go to your notes for more.
Locate at least 5 metals and non-metals within the periodic table (we have 10 examples for you to memorise)
Metals;
- Lithium (Li)
- Sodium (Na)
- Potassium (k)
- Magnesium (Mg)
- Calcium (Ca)
Non-Metals;
- Carbon (C)
- Nitrogen (M)
- Oxygen (O)
- Hydrogen (H)
- Chlorine (Cl)
How to write a chemical formula
For example; (metals ALWAYS go first)
Magnesium & Oxygen= MgO
How to balance equations
(Look at your notes book)
Balance the metals and non-metals when coming together to form a bond.
