What is Open questionnaires?
Respondents are free to give whatever answer they wish and elaborate where they want without any preselected information. The data produce qualitative and allows them to explain so you get richer data
What is Closed questionnaire?
Respondents are free to choose from a limtied range of possible answers ‘yes’ or ‘no’ or multiple choice precoded to provide quantitative data and so researchers can count the number of respondents easily
What is Practical Advantage of Questionnaires?
- Quick and cheap and to gather larger amounts of data
- Easy to distribute
- doesn’t take up respondents time
- Broad range of respondents and increases representativeness
What is Practical Disadvantage of Questionnaires?
- Low response rate because high drop out
- Answer may not fit the given (Closed)
- Open questions can be time consuming to analyse
What are the Ethical issues of Questionnaires?
- potentially sensitive topics can cause distress
- Questionnaires may disclose respondents immoral behaviour

- Open questionnaire gives detailed data
