In my view, a friend who is similar is better.
First, you get along well with such people.
For example, one of my high school friends is very similar to me. We both like a lot of the same things: movies, eating out, etc. So, whenever we’re bored that’s what we do. We don’t argue about it.
Second, you can still experience new things with them.
For example, Tim is similar to me, and we agree on a lot of things, but not on everything. We have similar taste, but sometimes he’ll suggest a restaurant I wouldn’t normally eat at. Like this Thai restaurant we tried last week.
That’s why a friend who is similar is better.
Study Tip
Study tip: One good method of ensuring that you’re developing great skill and comfort is to read through our “example perfect answer” in 45 seconds before you start to practice on your own. That way you’ll have a great reference point as you speak: you’ll know how fast you need to be and how to give a good overall response.
Remember; if you can’t read through this in 45 seconds, then you can’t say it on the test. Limit the size of your examples to your ability so that you always deliver a complete response, which will earn you the highest score possible.
We know that for many of you this test plays a powerful role in your future as a necessary step that you must get over to move forward. So, in that spirit, below we’ve laid out several examples to drive the point home in exactly what you need to do to do well.
Be comfortable though. Don’t try to be perfect and don’t feel frustrated if you’re not perfect right away. Over time you will improve and you WILL get the score you need. Also, be practical in your studies, if you need a 100+ then you must aim for excellence and if you need an 80+, you have room to make mistakes. Remember that no matter what your goal is you can and WILL succeed. Good luck
