what are the main characters of the Iroquois?
they are sedentary, matrarchy and agriculture.
what does sedentary means?
it means they remained in the same place for some time. they lived in the same village for 8 to 10 years until the surrounding fields became infertile.
what does matriarchy means?
it means women were heads of families. childrens belonged to the clan of their mother.
how did the Iroquois divide labour (the work) what were the main tasks of the men? the women?
the men hunted in the forest and fished in the lakes and rivers. the women grew cons, beans, pumpkins and squash on fields near the village. in summer they also gathered berries and seeds.
