Quantitative Chemistry Flashcards
Describe mole as:
The SI unit for amount of substance.
One mole contains Avogadro’s number of particles.
(𝑁 𝐴 = 6,02 × 1023 𝑝𝑎𝑟𝑡𝑖𝑐𝑙𝑒𝑠. 𝑚𝑜𝑙𝑒−1)
Molar mass:
The mass, in gram, of one mole of that substance.
Molar volume:
1 mole of gas occupies 22,4 𝑑𝑚3 at 0 0C (273 K) and at
1 atmospheric pressure (101,3 kPa).
Solution:
Homogeneous mixture of solute and solvent
Solute:
The substance that is dissolved in the solution.
Solvent:
The substance in which another substance is dissolved, forming a solution.
Concentration:
The amount of solute per unit volume of solution
Standard Solution:
A solution of known concentration
Yield:
A measure of the extent of a reaction, generally measured by comparing the amount of product against the amount of product that is possible.
