Quality Assurance and control Flashcards
What is the difference between Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC)?
Quality Assurance and Quality Control are both aspects of quality management. QA covers virtually all the quality system activities to provide confidence that a product or service will fulfill requirements for quality. QC, on the other hand, is focused on fulfilling quality requirements and is more about the inspection aspect of quality management.
How does Quality Assurance provide confidence?
Quality Assurance provides confidence in two ways: internally to management and externally to customers, government agencies, regulators, certifiers, and third parties. It involves all planned and systematic activities implemented within the quality system that can demonstrate a product or service will meet quality requirements.
What is the main focus of Quality Control in quality management?
Quality Control is focused on fulfilling quality requirements. It relates to how a process is performed or how a product is made and is more about the inspection aspect of quality management.
What are the characteristics of pure aluminiumnon ferrous metal)?
Pure aluminium is malleable and ductile but has a low tensile strength. It resists corrosion and is used extensively outdoors satellite and window frame. It is very light and has a density a third that of copper and steel. It is a good conductor of heat and electricity.
How is the strength of aluminium improved?
The strength of aluminium is usually improved by alloying it with copper or magnesium.
What are the benefits of aluminium’s light weight and low melting point?
Aluminium’s light weight makes it ideal for use in the aircraft industry and in motor cars. It’s low melting point makes it an ideal metal for casting, as the molten aluminium will flow into all areas of the mold.
