The idea that we construct our social worlds. Reality is constructed through human activity, we invent properties of the world

Focusing on particular group to understand them well

Used in grounded theory, used to find participants to help build the theory

It guides sample size, size is not pre-determined so sampling stops when enough data has been collected to explain the issue.
