Method Triangulations
Combination of different research method or data collection techniques to gain more extensive knowledge and understanding
Naturalistic Observation
Experiment that takes place in a normal human day to day interaction (natural observation)
Research Bias
Expectation of the researcher and as such the data is biased towards what the researcher wants to find out
Participant Observation
A tactic done by researchers as a way to generate natural and more specific observations - can get the inside perspective
Reactivity
The alteration or change of a particular behaviour or attribute because of awareness of being explicitly observed
Response Bias
A survey that is impacted heavily by the appeal to please or provide an answer that is perceived preferable in an interview
Self Reporting
Information about the participant is provided by themselves
Researcher Triangulation
When several researchers carry out the experiment (aim to get various interpretations of the data/results)
Theory Triangulation
An experiment that often is used to explain a behaviour and as such different approaches work together on the same experiment to get varied results and povs
