Q

Windshear Take OFF

A

Before V1
- STOP

After V1:
- Rotate before last 2000’ rwy
(REL turn red/white at 3000’/red at 1000’)
- Rotate towards 15 deg
- Escape Manouver
- AP

17
Q

RTO Actions

A

“STOP”
- Thrust Disconnect
- Thrust IDLE
- Breaks (autobrake or Manual (no AB below 80kts))
- Speed brakes UP
- Max Revers

Once Stopped
- PA
- ATC
- Park Barke?
- Confirm Failure
- Checklist
- Taxi?
- Brake Cooling Review

18
Q

GPWS Warning Actions

A
  • Dissengage AP & AT
  • MAX Thrust
  • Wings level
  • 20 deg pitch up (don’t follow FD)
  • Retract Speed Brake
  • Rotate to PLI / Stick shaker if terrain contact a threat
  • Do not change config

Recovery
- Pitch down
- engage AP (will engage in basic mode)
- Set MCP ALT
- FLCH
- Select Roll Mode

19
Q

Windshear Escape Manouver

A

Manual:
- Disengage AP
- TOGA
- Max Thrust
- Disconnect AT
- Wings level
- 15 deg
-Retract Speed Brake
- Follow FD

Auto:
- TOGA
-Verify TOFA modes
- Retract Speed brake
- Monitor System performance

Both:
- Don’t Change Config
- Maintain Wings Level unless turn required
- Monitor VS & altitude
- Don’t attempt to regain airspeed until out of windshear

20
Q

Windshear Definition

A

Unacceptable flight path deviations below 1000’

  • 15kts airspeed
  • 500 fpm vertical speed
  • 5 deg pitch
  • 1 dot displacement
  • unusual Thrust for significant period of time
