QC QUESTIONS PART III Flashcards
What is AF FORM 1746?
Log of opening and closing of alarmed structure/facility.
What is AF FORM 340?
Alarm Data Sheet.
What is a Buried Line System? (BLS)
We use this type of sensor to protect Schriever AFB’s RA perimeter. The BLS is a buried line ported coaxial cable sensor that provides intrusion detection around large areas requiring perimeter security protection. It consists of a pair of ported coaxial cables for transmitting and receiving an electromagnetic signal.
What is a Ceiling Mounted Passive Infrared Sensor? (PIR)
We use this sensor to protect the interior of facilities located on Schriever AFB.
What is a Passive Infrared (PIR)?
The PIR is a passive infrared sensor that measures the infrared energy radiated from every object within its field of view. The sensor looks for changes in the level of this radiation. If the change is large enough and occurs rapidly enough, an alarm will result.
What are Balance Magnetic Switches (BMS) Used for?
We use this type of sensor to protect doors leading into many facilities and rooms. BMS sensor alarms when the actuating magnetic assembly is moved away from the magnetic switch assembly, the field inside the magnetic switch assembly becomes unbalanced and forces the switch to open. When the switch opens an alarm is generated.
What are Tamper Switches used for?
Tamper switches are used to protect equipment, power, and communications panels/boxes. A tamper switch is a device that is employed on all electronic enclosures, cabinets and other associated electronic security systems equipment. This switch alerts system operators of possible tampering within equipment boxes or other enclosures. Tamper switches are required anywhere equipment terminates or is spliced.
What are microwave sensors used for?
Microwave Sensors are installed on the NECF roof, WECF roof and within the NECF entrapment area. The microwave sensor employs a biostatic microwave, objects moving through its field produce a change in the received signal, when the change crosses a predetermined threshold, an alarm results.
What are Passive Infrared and Motion Intrusion Detection (PIRAMD) Sensors used for?
PIRAMID sensors are employed on the south side exterior of the West Entry Control Facility. The PIRAMID sensor combines both Doppler Microwave and PIR technology.
What is Infrared Perimeter Intrusion Detection Systems (IPIDS) used for?
We use the IPIDS to protect the east and south vehicle entry gates on the Bldg. 612 compound and on the West Vehicle Entrapment Area. The IPIDS is an active infrared intrusion detection system. The system consists of two posts opposite one another that house infrared transmitters and receiver modules. The transmitters use a light-emitting diode to emit a 2 inch wide beam of infrared energy at a frequency of 21 kHz, which passes through a lens to the opposite receiver.
What is Fiber Optic Sensor System (FOSS) used for?
FOSS is employed on the exterior grates protecting the culverts and the Bldg. 612 Compound perimeter fencing. The FOSS consists of a sensor cable attached to the grating and an electronic signal processor. The sensor cable consists of sensitive and insensitive fiber optic cable and an Alarm Processing Unit.
