Qabalah - The Tree of Life Flashcards
What is Qabalah?
Qabalah is a spoken tradition passed down from one teacher to another. The knowledge and practices learned are not simply information given, but also integrated through own experience.
What is the tree of life?
The tree of life (Hebrew: עֵץ חַיִּים, romanized: ʿēṣ ḥayyim or no: אִילָן, romanized: ʾilān, lit. ’tree’) is a diagram used in Rabbinical Judaism in kabbalah and other mystical traditions derived from it.[1] It is usually referred to as the “kabbalistic tree of life” to distinguish it from the tree of life that appears alongside the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the Genesis creation narrative and well as the archetypal tree of life found in many cultures.
Saphira or sephiroth circles are the circles of energy that represent experiences in life and they all have a characteristic color
The pathways are the more intense experiences and they take a while before you can walk them.
How are the archangels related to every saphira? And how do they help us?
1 Kether – Metatron
At the top of the Tree, Metatron directs the God energy through the entire Tree of Life. He connects us to the source. Was once human.

He helps bring wisdom into your life in practical ways that help you reach your full potential. He is like an electrical spark that create new beginnings.

understanding with others. Often just seen as an arm or the side of a face.

5 Geburah – Khamael
The Archangel Khamael brings tough love. He knows what’s needed might not always be what you want to hear, but he supports those who believe in themselves to take that leap.
6 Tiphareth – Michael and Raphael
Michael is the most called upon and is a powerful archangel for protection. Raphael is a great healer.

What are the 4 elements? And which creatures work in this energy?
FIRE is a living principle of duality, providing light and heat to aid humankind, while at the same time being a force of death and destruction. Fire is Wands (Tarot), Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius (signs of the zodiac).
FIRE has the Salamanders, little sparks of light that glow red hot. They also have a king and he is called Djinn, their archangel is Michael.
EARTH is the element of form, binding, and manifestation. It’s practical and steady, it supports and allows for growth. It’s about health, wealth, and wellbeing. Earth is Disks, Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn.
EARTH has the Gnomes who work very hard at keeping systems running and Mother Earth tidy, which is not an easy task these days. Their king is
called Ghobe, their archangel is Uriel.
AIR is commonly associated with mental activity, communication, and chatting. It’s the element that governs the thought patterns you produce and the images you create in life. Air is Swords, Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius.
AIR has the fairy folk, Sylphs. They are bringing thoughts your way that seem to come out of nowhere, they help with communication.Their king is called Paralda, a cloud of ever-changing shape and size, their archangel is Raphael.
WATER, your emotions, is a very powerful force and when you listen to them they can guide you using Water’s biggest tool: your intuition. This is the land
of your subconscious mind, Water is Cups in the
Tarot, and Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces in astrology.
WATER has the Undines, they sparkle on the water or
shimmer on a lake. they help us withour emotions. Their king is Nixsa, a giant wave that can be all consuming, their archangel is Gabriel.
We can ask the elementals for help. Just do it with humility, and be clear what kind of help you need.

HOW TO PERFORM THE QABALISTIC CROSS
Begin the ritual facing east.
1. Touch your forehead and chant/vibrate ‘Ateh’.
2. Point toward your feet. Vibrate ‘Malkuth.’
3. Touch your right shoulder and vibrate ‘Ve-Geburah.’
4. Touch your left shoulder and vibrate ‘Ve-Gedulah’
5. Place your hands together over your heart and vibrate ‘Le-Olahm’, Amen.
This simply means ‘as above, so below, the power and the glory, for ever and ever, amen,’ but it predates Christianity by many thousands of years. It’s the vibration of it that makes the difference.
Magical tools
To represent the elements, it’s possible to use magical tools, you can place them in a certain position.
- an athame for Air (east) Raphael
- a cup for Water (west) Gabriel
- a wand for Fire (south) Michael
- a disk for Earth (North) Uriel
To claim them as your own you may want to consecrate them and there are various ways of doing this. The key point is this: once consecrated, only you, group members, or trusted individuals may touch them.
Pass each magical tool through the smoke of an incense stick to cleanse it and have an affirmation to claim it as a magical tool.
Altars
To help you make the most of your meditations, it’s a good idea to set up an altar, to give you a focal point, and to place items of relevance on it.
- have a central candle
- place the magical tools
- give yourself time to set up the altar for your meditaion, building up momentum
MALKUTH

VIRTUE: discrimination

Discrimination means prioritizing what needs to be done next for you to get to where you want to be. Reorganize you environment.
Think about money and how to make it work better for you. Money is very much a Malkuth energy. How can you attract it into your life by taking action rather than leaving your great ideas loitering around in Hod waiting for you to get round to them? The Tree is starting to work.
Ground your energy, especially when visiting other dimensions.
YESOD

Yesod is where you meet your powerful subconscious
mind, where you reach into that melting pot of all you’ve ever done to bring forward some answers that will help you in the here and now, as well as bring
forward some lessons that you might still have to work on. Be aware that we manifest from that unconcious mind, the better you know it, the more concious you can manifest.
The next plane of existence, sometimes called the astral plane, is the domain of Yesod and we cannot travel up or down the Tree to and from Malkuth without moving past these worlds.

Netzach can often show itself in our most intimate of relationships as it’s about our feelings, and the victory over our feelings. That’s not thesame as being a cold fish, it means that when you have those feelings that can sometimes seem overwhelming, you will know what to do about bringing them under control. You visit Hod and all its images and remind yourself that logic has its place.
TIPHARETH
KEYWORD: beauty
PLANET: the Sun
POSITION ON THE TREE: 6
ARCHANGEL: Michael

VICE: pride
COLOUR: gold and yellow
INCENSE: Frankincense
CHAKRA: Heart/Solar Plexus

TAROT CARDS: the four Sixes
Tiphareth sits in the center of the Tree and is the balancing point. It’s a place of great healing and love, and also a place of sacrifice, for what greater love can you show for another than giving something up so that they can blossom? The Christ force is often attributed to this Sephira.
This is also a place where your soul learns from those who have gone before it. You may experience the feeling that ‘someone’ is watching over you or that a
specific piece of knowledge is being sent your way. Teachers often appear here, both on Earth and in the spiritual realm.
