Aborted Engine Start

A

In the event of an IMMINENT OVERTEMPERATURE, HUNG START or FAILURE TO LIGHT off in 10 Sec:

  • Condition Lever - Fuel Off

*IF ITT does not decrease immediately:*

  • Pull fuel off Handle - Pull
  • Ignition (Affected Engine) - Off

*Motor Engine for 15 Seconds:*

  • Start Select - Off

Propeller Overspeed

A

ABOVE 400ft AGL:

  • Synchrophase - Off
  • Airspeed - Reduce towards minimum speed appropriate for flap config and flight conditions.

AFFECTED ENGINE:

  • Power Lever - Flight Idle
  • Condition Leaver - Start/Feather
  • Alternate Fx - Feather

*If prop does not Feather*

DO NOT SHUTDOWN ENGINE!

  • Alternate Feather - Norm
    • CHECK THE ALTERNATE ADVISORY LIGHT IS OUT
  • Condition Levers - Max
  • Power Lever (affected engine) - Advance
    • Do not exceed 1212 rpm
  • Power Lever (Non affected engine): As req. to maintain desired flight profile.

*Land Immediately at the nearest suitable airport*

IF PROP FEATHERS:

  • Engine Fail/Fire/Shutdown - Accomplish

PF Calls:“Roll Jam”

  • Autopilot - Disengage

PF Calls“Roll Disconnect”

  • PM: Roll Disconnect Handle - Pull and Turn 90°

Both Pilots will now attempt to control the Aircraft.

  • Pilot with free control will call “I Have Control”
  • Pilot with jammed control will call “You have control”

Pitch Control Jam Procedure

A

PF Calls: “Pitch Jam Assist”

  • Autopilot - Disengage
  • Flap and Airspeed - Maintain at time of jam
  • Pitch Control - Attempt to overcome Jam

Both pilots will try to overpower each control to dislodge jam. If unable to control - relax force

*If Unable to overcome Jam:*

PF Calls: “Pitch Disconnect”

  • Relax Control Column Force

PM

  • Pitch Disconnect Handle - Pull and Turn 90°

Both pilots will now attempt to control the aircraft.

  • Pilot with free control will call “I have control”
  • Pilot with jammed control will respond “You have control”

  • Set 10,000ft in alerter & Arm ALT SEL

“10,000 Set, ALT SEL”

  • Set transponder……….7700

PA:“Attention, Attention, this is the Captain”, “Emergency Descent”

NOTE:

If structural integrity is in doubt, limit airspeed as much as possible and avoid high manoeuvring loads.
