  • the reuse of existing materials/themes/images/conventions allowing for continuing textual production
  • multiplicities insist that no texts have firm limits
  • multiplicities: adaprations, sequels, prequels, remakes, reboots, series, spin-offs, cycles)
  • seriality gives us multiplicity and textual pluralities

What is seriality?

A
  • repetition of familiar formulas (genre is a formula) but with a difference
  • an expansion and reproduction of the “original” content, since the original is “sufficiently insufficient” (i/e/ we can always add something to it) -> it’s always open to extention
