Main functions of the liver

A

Deamination: Nitrogen part of amino acid is converted into part of the ammonia is converted into urea, and eventually passed out through the works or the kidney. The rest of the ammonia is converted into glucose
Producing glucose: If there is excess glucose in the blood the liver turns it into glycogen.
Removing alcohol and drugs
Hormones are broken down: hormones that have already performed their functions are broken down
Synthesises and secretes bile
