Normal range vs reference range?
Reference range - data from a sample of a reference population.
Normal range - less strictly defined, a range derived from a healthy reference population.
Continuous vs discrete vs categorical?
Continuous - infinite numbers or values between any 2 values. E.g. numeric date or time.
Discrete - countable number of values between any two values. E.g. customer complaints or number of flaws or defects
Categorical data - contain a finite number of catagoties or groups. E.g. gender, material type, payment type.
