Drivers can be understood as the forces leading to the inception of migration and the perpetuation of movement

What are the types of drivers
A
- o Predisposing drivers contribute to the creation of a context in which migration is more likely
o Economic, political and environmental and geographical disparities/factors - Proximate drivers derive from deep-seated structural features
o Countries of origin - economic or business downturns for worse, environmental degradation, human rights repression etc.
o Places of destination - economic upturn, societal improvement, employment opportunities etc. - Precipitating drivers trigger departure,- ied to identifiable events, financial crisis, persecution, natural disaster etc.
- Mediating drivers enable, facilitate, constrain, accelerate or consolidate migration and may diminish migration too: quality of transport, communications and resources
