  2. National synods of the classis system were able to pressure parliaments
  3. Pressure on parliament to get ride of 1559 prayer book and replace it with Geneva prayer book

  1. Death of John Field - now lacked leadership and direction
  2. Puritan m.p’s not allowed to organise in parliament - no passing laws and imprisoned disobedient ones - Wentworth and Cope
  3. Time Elizabeths main weapon - introduced priest loyal to the settlement etc
