How do you work out E(x)?
Sum of : r(P=X)
E(x^2)
Sum of: r^2(P=X)
Var(X)
E(X^2) - E(X)^2
What is the product rule?
[UV]’ = UV’ + U’V
What is the Quotient Rule?
[U/V]’ = U’V - UV’ / V^2
What conditions are needed for binomial probabilities?
- The number of trials are fixed
- Only two possible outcomes (success and failure)
- The trials are independent so the outcome of one trial does not affect that of the others
- The probability of success is the same in each trials
- The variable is the total number of successes in the n trials
Probability of getting heads 0.6, I throw 7 times what is the probability of getting 2 heads?
7C2 x (0.6)^2 x (0.4)^5
How do you differentiate 2sin5x
2 x 5 x cos5x
How do you integrate cos3x + 2sin3x ?
1/3 sin3x - 2/3 cos3x + c
What are conditions for normal distribution?
- Data is continuous
- Data is roughly symmetrical in the middle
- Virtually all of data within 3 standard deviations of the mean
