what do PPDs clinically have in common in appearance
capillaritis and petechial hemorrhages in a background of yellow discoloration due to hemosiderin deposition
- Yellow–brown patches with an oval to irregular outline
- Pinpoint petechiae within patches – likened to “cayenne pepper”
- Successive crops
- Favors lower legs
Schamber’s disease
• Usu in adolescent/young adult females
• 1–3 cm annular plaques that may slowly expand
• Punctate telangiectasias and petechiae within
the border
Majocchi’s Disease
• Admixture of two types of lesions:
1) Schamberg-like
2) Purpuric red–brown lichenoid papules
• Chronic
Pigmented purpuric lichenoid dermatitis of Gougerot and Blum
solitary rut to purple colored patch or plaque on lower ext with golden hue
Lichen aureus
• Scaly petechial or purpuric macules, papules and patches
Eczematid-like purpura of Doucas and Kapetanakis

RBCs extravasation, hemosiderin, perivascular lymphid infiltrate
+ lichenoid infiltrate in lichen aureus and lichenoid dermatitis of Gougerot and Blum
