Reversible obstructive lung disease caused by increased reaction of the airways to various stimuli
Asthma
The collapse of normally expanded and aerated lung tissue at any structural level involving all or part of the lung
Atelectasis
Dilated, inflamed, & easily collapsible bronchi due to destruction of the muscle and decrease in elasticity
Bronchiectasis
Inflammation of the bronchi; lasts several days to weeks
Bronchitis (acute)
Inflammation of the bronchi; lasts years
Bronchitis (chronic)
A disease state characterized by airflow limitation that is not fully reversible
COPD
Disorder of ion transport in the exocrine glands affecting the hepatic, digestive, male reproductive and respiratory systems
Cystic Fibrosis
Pathologic accumulation of air in tissues, particularly in lungs
