dead space (gas exchange)
ventilation (air) but little or no circulation (blood)
shunt (gas exchange)
circulation but little or no ventilation
what does increased lung compliance mean?
easier to expand, or inflate, the lungs
what does less lung compliance mean?
difficult to inflate the lungs
