Complications of cervical rib
A
- Vascular: arterial - post-stenosis dilatation of subclavian artery, caused by local turbulence. Risk of distal thrombi.
Subclavian aneurysm
Subclavian vein thrombosis
- Neurological: brachial plexus compression. Paraesthesia of C8/T1 distribution and wasting of small muscles of hand.
Definition/anatomy of cervical rib: originate from TP of C7, and articulate with first rib, or just via a fibrous band.
