It allows us to be brave and do the right thing for the people that we are caring for. Being courageous helps nurses identify poor practice and speak up reinforcing strategies to increase the best standard of care for patients

AUTONOMY
is when a healthcare provider like a doctor,

of communication lets the patient ask questions
and accept or deny treatment.
INFORMED CONSENT
is the process by which people with the legal right to
consent to medical treatment for themselves or for a
minor or a ward delegate that right to another
person.
