- It cannot break down chemically.
- They consist of a nucleus surrounded by electrons
what are molecules?
- Have a neutral electric charge.
- A group of two or more atoms that are chemically bonded together.
- Made up of the same elements but not all the time.
what is compound?
- Made of two or more atoms chemically bonded together
- Compounds are always made up of different elements
Covalent compounds are also called Molecular compounds what are these?
Covalent compounds are made of pure non-metals

what are Ions?
- Charge particles
- are atoms or molecules that have gained or lost electrons, giving them a net electrical charge.
What are valence electrons?
- They are located in the valence shell
- They participate in electric bonding
- Atoms can share valence electrons to form covalent bonds
Law of Octet
- Particles attain stability when it has 8 valence of electrons
- atoms will gain, lose, or share electrons in chemical reactions to achieve a full valence shell of eight electrons.
Having electrons of 0 is more stable than having 1-7 valence electrons
