Criteria for Delusional Disorder
One or more delusions for one month or more
function and behavior not markedly affected
Brief psychotic disorder
Sudden onset
Lasts at least one day
Schizophreniform disorder (duration)
1-6 months - longer than brief psychotic disorder but shorter than schizophrenia
Schizoaffective disorder
Meets criteria for Schizophrenia and includes major mood episode (manic or depressive)
Schizophrenia criteria
2+ in a one-month period - Must include one of the first 3 (HalDelDisDaN)
1. Hallucinations
2. Delusions
3. Disorganized speech
4. Disorganized Behavior (including catatonic)
5. Negative symptoms
6. Affects level of functioning
Differential diagnoses of schiophrenia
OCD, bipolar disorder, substance induced psychotic disorder, schizoid/schizotypal psychotic disorder
Nonpharmacologic interventions for psychotic disorders
CBT, social skills training, group therapy, family oriented therapy, art therapy, cognitive remediation
Important lab values for people taking SGA
BMI, triglycerides, BP, fasting plasma glucose, fasting lipids, CBC
