What is psychosocial health?
- A complex interaction of psychological and social processes
- Could be seen as a balance between dimensions of wellness
What occurs during the emerging adulthood stage?
- Distinct life stage
- Wider scope of possibilities than any other life stage for western cultures
- Lots of variability; difficult to predict activities - Distinct state of mind
- Not quite adult, not quite adolescence
- Adult responsibilities include independent decision making, responsibility for oneself, and financial independence
What are some ways to support your psychosocial health?
- Connect with others
- Build meaningful relationships
- Give and receive care - Stay positive (pessimists = more stress)
- Experience a range of emotions while coping in a healthy way - Deal better with hard times

- Ability to response in suitable way to distressing or amazing events
- Sense of control over mind and body that leads to good decisions
