Describe Prodrome Phase

A
  • Can’t be diagnosed until psychosis symptoms have been diagnosed
  • Changes in feelings and perception
  • Lights get brighter, sounds get louder

Describe Acute Phase

A
  • Psychotic symptoms like hallucinations or delusions emerge and are most noticeable
  • Treatment should start ASAP

  • Treatment begins and within weeks or months, symptoms detensify or disappear completely
  • Coping with daily life is easier and the majority of people recover from their first episode
