Agoraphobia
Fear of places where it is not easy to escape
Positive symptom
Something that is easy to detect
Hallucinations
Negative symptom
Something hard to detect
Lack of motivation
Delusions
- Persecution: people are conspiring against them
- Grandeur: they are a higher deity, or have special abilities
- Reference: something or someone is having a conversation with
them - Erotomania: belief that someone is in love with you despite the contrary
- Somatic: something is wrong with them health-wise.
- Nihilistic: the end of the world is imminent or that nothing
really exists or is real. - Bizarre vs Non-bizarre: something that is plausible vs something that is not plausible
Schizopheniform disorder
Relatively short duration of symptoms, good prognosis
Schizoaffective Disorder
Independent symptoms of SZ and mood disorder. Prognosis similar to SZ.
Delusional Disorder
Delusions for 1month or longer. Few or no negative symptoms, less observable
impairment, rare, better prognosis, subtypes.
Bipolar I Disorder
Manic episode and depressive episode
Can be treated by lithium
