what is assessment, explain formal assessment and informal assessment?

A

assessment is the process through which we assess different different individuals characteristics and personalityl, it is the measure of psychological attributes and thier evaluation.
The evaluation can be done through different areas of comparison.
- The assessment can be done both formally and informally,
Formal assessment of individuals is more logical, standardized and organized and involves the assessment is not open to subjective interpretations
the formal assessment is mostly carried out in labs or a natural setting.

informal assessment of individuals is not organized, logical and standardized and is done differently according to different settings, and in this its most prone to subjective interpretations.

A

intelligence is not unidimensional and not a single entity but has several aspects and dimensions to it, which means that it is influenced by certain factors.
such factors are unique in thier own way but are in some way are inter-related to each other
if we want to assess a person we must look at thier personality in all the aspects [cognitive, social, emotional,etc]

mention the different dimensions of intelligence?

A
  • intelligence is the global capacity of an individual to understand the world, think rationally, and use available resources to deal with everyday problems.
  • Aptitude- is the underlying capacity of an indivudal to acquirre a skill if given proper formal training, for example a person which has a much higher mechanical aptitude can do well as a engineer while those having skills in high language can do well as a writer.
  • Interest- is the individual’s preference to do something in one or more specific activities relative to others, for example: studebts oreferebce fr a particular subject may help them score good in the subject they might choose and can provide job satisfaction in the future
  • personality is the relative enduring characteristics of an individuals that makes him/ her distinct from others , personality assessment is done to observe people’s unique characteristics, for example: dominant or submissive, bold or withdrawn, moody ir emotionally stable, etc

values- are the virtues or the enduring beliefs that the person holds ir the set of values and ideals that a person holds that guides his/her behaviour in the future, and actions in life, and how he/she judges others,
for ex: to determine values of an individuals in terms of [political,religious , social or economic]
