What do you know about mental health assessments for adults with a learning disability?
A
- Best to use tools which have been developed or adapted for people with LD
- If the tool has not been developed or adapted for people with LD, then take this into account when interpreting the results.
- Children: developmental behaviour checklist parent version OR strengths and difficulties questionnaire.
- Adults: Glasgow depression scale.

- include an ax of the person’s mental health
- include a risk assessment; risk to self, others, self-neglect, vulnerability to exploitation, likelihood and severity of any particular risk
