Client responsible for their own behavior, most commonly used for substance abuse
EDMR
Rapid Eye Movement therapy used to treat PTSD, by reframing images of traumatic memories
Behavioral therapy
Uses classical and operant conditioning
Antipsychotics, treat schizo and some anxiety
Thorazine, Haldol, and Risperdal
Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) treat depression and mood disorders
Prozac, Zoloft, and Paxil
seratonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs)., treat anxiety (better for teens)
Serzone, Effexor, and Remeron
Benzodiazepines treat anxiety and PTSD, reduce panic symptoms
alprazolam (Xanax) and clonazepam (Klonopin)
SSRI’s are tricky bc they can cause suicide in teenagers
