Acute trauma

Developmental trauma
Refers to early exposure to adverse experiences eg: neglect, abandonment, physical abuse, loss, sexual abuse

Children who show some distress when their caregiver leaves but are able to compose themselves quickly when the caregiver returns
Insecure attachment
Characterized by a lack of trust and a lack of a secure base

Conduct disorder (CD)
A pattern of aggressive and antisocial behaviours in children or adolescents
Oppositional defiant disorder (ODD)
behavior disorder, where there is a pattern of uncooperative, defiant, and hostile behavior towards peers, parents, teachers, and other authority figures
Reactive Attachment disorder (RAD)
Rare but serious condition that affects a child’s ability to form healthy attachments with caregivers or parents
Disinhibited social engagement disorder (DSED)
Condition that affects children and makes it difficult for them to form emotional bonds to others

- Overly friendly or chatty with strangers
- Walk up to strangers to talk or hug them
