what is randomisation and standardisation?
randomisation - the use of chance methods to reduce the researchers unconscious biases when designing an investigation
standardisation - when procedures are exactly the same for all pp involved in the study

presumptive consent - a similar group of pp are asked if the study is acceptable
prior general consent - they have consented to multiple studies including some which may involve deception
retrospective consent - they are asked for consent after the study has taken place
what is conformity
a form of social influence where group pressure real or imagined results in a change in behaviour
internalisation
conforming to the group because you accept its norms - you agree publicly and privately
identification
conforming to the group becasue we value it in our social role - prepared to chnage views to be accepted by it
compliance
superficial agreeance with a group going along with it publicly but holding a different view point in priavte
