A
- breach to the arterial wall, resulting in an accumulation of blood between the tunica media and tunica adventitia of the artery.

What are the clinical features of pseudoaneurysm?
A
- pulsatile lump, tender, painful
- distal arterial compression - limb ischaemia
- herald bleed

A
- haemorrhage + abdominal pain + catastrophic haemorrhage (after hours or weeks)

What are the differential diagnosis of pseudoaneurysm?
A
- true aneurysm
- haematoma
- abscess

What Ix would you order?
A
- Check distal pulses
- DUS
- CT
- Bloods
- FBC, CRP, U&E, Clotting, cultures, pus MCS

How would you mx small pseudoaneurysm?
A
- leave alone

How would you mx larger and symptomatic pseudoaneurysm?
A
- ultrasound-guided thrombin injection
- surgical repair/ligation

How would you mx infected pseudoaneeurysm?
A
- surgical ligation
- bypass graft
- amputations (small proportion)
