What size needle should be used for injection?
27 gauge, 1.5 inch needle
What size transducer should be used for injection/tenotomy?
High frequency linear array or curvilinear array
What are indications for proximal hamstring injections?
Recalcitrant tendinopathy unresponsive to conservative therapy
What should be used to numb the skin?
27 gauge, 1.5 inch needle
1% lidocaine w/o epinephrine
What should be used for the injectate?
22 gauge, 3 inch needle
1 mL of corticosteroid and 2-5 mL of local anesthetic
How should the patient be positioned?
Side lying with affected side superior and hip/knee flexed
How should the transducer be positioned?
Sagittal, long axis to hamstring tendon complex
What should be avoided during injection?
Sciatic nerve runs lateral to the hamstring tendons
What size needle should be used for tenontomy?
22 gauge, 3 inch needle
